North Carolina Dance Theatre
We are excited to annouce that our K-2 students were selected to participate in the NC Dance Theatre residency program sponsored by the ArtsTeach/ASC. the North Carolina Dance Theatre will conduct a six week residency in which students will learn to integrate movement and dance with literacy. The classes will be taught by a professional teaching artist from the North Carolina Dance Theatre. This is a great opportunity in which students are able to learn the art of movement and dance. As a kick off to the program, students attended an interactive lecture demonstration by professional dancers from the North Carolina Dance Theatre.
K-2students will perform and provide entertainment during the PBIS celebration in April to share what they have learned during the dance residency. The culminating event of theprogram is that all students will attend a field trip to the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center on March 11th to see Cinderella performed by dancers from the North Carolina Dance Theatre.
