About Us   "Honor School of Excellence" Villa Heights Academic Center, home of the Vikings, is located in Charlotte North Carolina. We are located within Mecklenburg County just minutes from downtown. Our school houses six grade levels which include kindergarten through fifth grade with an enrollment just over 300 students. Villa Heights is currently the only full magnet school for Learning Immersion (K-2)and Talent Development (Gifted 3-5) students. Both programs are accelerated and offer students rigorous and academically challenging curricula. Students are enrolled by entering a magnet school lottery drawing usually held in early spring. Villa Heights has been consistently recognized as a School of Excellence under the states ABCs goals, and has been recognized by the State School Board and Hunt Institute for it's academic honors.  Student honors have included a state chess title, state math fair champions, and regional science fair winners. Our students also participate in a variety of fun social activities and monthly interest clubs. It is our mission to provide a nurturing environment that encourages children to become lifelong learners, problem-solvers and successful contributors to our global community.
