Accelerated Reader
Here at Pineville Elementary, we use the Imagine It series for our primary reading instruction. In addition, we utilize Accelerated Reader to help students discover the joy of independent reading. A list of books appropriate for each child's reading level is provided by teachers. Students read books and discuss them with teachers and peers. A computer quiz is completed by the student, and the results are monitored by their teacher. We love celebrating their success and their growing love of literature. Find a book to read at home! Ask your child's teacher to give you their level and select a book that matches. Many of these titles can be found at the Public Library and our library here at school.

The Path To The Horizon Information Portal (HIP)
The Horizon Information Portal is our school's catalog of resources in the Media Center. You can look up materials by author, title or subject and you find out if these materials are available for check out. Under the online resources, you can also find an online dictionary, encyclopedia and thesaurus as well as hundreds of suggested web sites on various subjects. This can be access at school AND from home. Here is how:
