Pawtuckett Elementary School is located in west Charlotte on Moores Chapel Road. We are home to approximately 225 students. Pawtuckett has 12 classes in kingergarten through 5th grade. Our students enjoy a diverse curriculum with many educational opportunities. Students participate in extra-curricular activities such as Honor's Chorus, Safety Patrol, Broadcast, and Chess Club. We have a wonderful extended day and afterschool program where students are given homework help and learn an exciting hands-on curriculum.
Hands-on learning is key at Pawtuckett. We utilize a flexible schedule in the media center to maximize research. Our schoolwide research model follows The Big 6 for third-fifth grades and The Super 3 for kindergarten-second grades. Our students are enriched with technology in our XP computer lab. Classes also utilize our research lab to complete their projects, which is home to XP computers and presentation equipment.
Pawtuckett is a small school with a community atmosphere. Our campus is comprised of several buildings, each with a rich history in CMS. As you enter campus, our main building houses the Office, Media Center, Multi-Purpose room, Technology Lab, K-3 classrooms, and the Cafeteria. The B Building is home to fourth and fifth grades. The A Building is comprised of Music, Art, ESL, EC, and Student Support Services. We welcome you to stop by our office for a visit or to volunteer your time.
