We are so fortunate to have Ms. Kaneka Turner at our school as our TD teacher.
She not only works with TD children, she has a Math Club for fifth graders, she's doing an estimation station in the cafeteria and has started a NEW in house Math class. Last week she started doing math classes over closed circuit TV. She taught the whole fourth grade the concepts of multiplication at one time. She had four children in the room with her working the problems, and her tv audience was in the classroom watching over closed circuit TV. She was able to call the classroom using the phone and intercom system and talk to a child to work out a problem or answer a question. She will be doing this everytime they start a new unit and hopefully expand it to more grades.
Our First estimation was how much does the pumpkin weigh and how many candy corn are in the large jar.
