Lake Wylie and the Community

-
Staff and Students at Lake Wylie enjoy an active and enthusiastic partnership with members of the community; both around the corner, and around the world. Our Fall Festival and Winter Parade always draw large crowds of neighbors coming together to celebrate the change of seasons with their children.
-
Third Grade Classes each year learn about giving to others through visiting local hospitals and making teddy bears and other special gifts for the children there.
-
Lake Wylie's Green Team works to educate others about the importance of recycling. Students distibuted free recycling bins to families at the Fall Festival. They also showcased their families in action recycling!
-
Jump Rope for Heart is an annual fundraising event that helps educate children and their families about heart disease and stroke, while at the same time, raising funds for further research. Thank you to everyone who sponsored a child and helped us to raise over $5,000 for this worthy cause! Want to stay healthy and share and receive ideas for keeping kids fit? Check out Alliance for a Healthier Generation sponsored in part by the American Heart Association.

Mrs. Conner's Fourth Graders led a drive to collect school supplies for a small school in the horn of Africa. As you can see, the students were very excited to receive our donation. (pictured above)
