Mission Our Vision   Irwin Avenue provides all students with the best education available in the district to prepare them to become leaders who appreciate and respect diversity in every culture.     Our Mission   The mission of Irwin Avenue Elementary is to develop the skills and talents of every child in the school through challenging international education and teaching them to appreciate the differences in all people of the world.     Our Beliefs   We believe that holding high expectations for everyone results in high achievement We believe in recognizing and valuing growth and achievement in children, staff, and other stake holders. We believe that the best learning takes place when there is collaboration between the school, community, and parents. We believe all children can learn self-management with consistent guidance and positive reinforcement. We believe that active engagement is a key component of great instruction and creates lifelong learners. We believe that students learn best when they take ownership of their learning by generating ideas, working collaboratively, and assessing themselves and each other. We believe that students learn best through real world student generated inquiry. We believe that by thinking critically, all students will become balanced and open-minded and will develop the skills necessary to succeed in the classroom and in life. We believe that through critical thinking, the Irwin Avenue staff will learn and utilize the best strategies to lead our students to success.
