Hopewell High School is located in the fast growing area of Northern Mecklenburg County. With a population of over 610,000, Charlotte is the second largest financial center in the nation. Many national and international firms have their headquarters in Charlotte. The student population is drawn from the violet choice zone.

| OUR SCHOOL |
|
Hopewell High School opened its doors for the first time on August 15, 2001. The school serves a rapidly growing area and draws students primarily from North Charlotte, Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson. Hopewell offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes regular, Advanced/Honors, Advanced Placement, Career & Technical Education, Visual & Performing Arts and JROTC courses.

| OUR ACADEMICS |
The quality point values are assigned on the basis of A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1 and F=0. One additional quality point is awarded for classes at Advanced/Honors levels and two extra quality points are awarded for Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Students follow a semester schedule to complete 4 courses per semester and 8 per year in order to earn 32 credits in 4 years. Hopewell strongly promotes higher education, and we currently offer 23 Advanced Placement courses to include: AP English 11 & 12, AP Spanish Literature & AP Spanish Language, AP French, AP Latin Vergil & AP Latin Literature, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Environmental Science, AP Physics B, AP Calculus AB & AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP Macro Economics & AP Micro Economics, AP European History & AP US History, AP Human Geography, AP US Government, AP Psychology, AP Art 2-D & AP Art History.

| OUR ATHLETICS |
Athletics play an important part in the extra-curricular life of students at Hopewell. The following sports are available: Soccer, Volleyball, Cross-Country, Golf, Men's & Women’s Lacrosse, Football, Basketball, Softball, Baseball, Wrestling, Swimming & Diving, Indoor & Outdoor Track & Field, Tennis and Cheerleading.
