School Profile:
- Eastover Elementary School has been providing quality education to students since 1935.
- The mission of Eastover Elementary School is to provide each student a differentiated and challenging education in a safe, supportive environment that promotes self-discipline, motivation, and excellence in learning.
- Students attending Eastover enter Alexander Graham Middle School and Myers Park High School.
- Eastover was the first elementary school in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School (CMS) district to have successfully implemented a required uniform policy. Uniforms strengthen school unity and foster a sense of pride among Eastover students.
- Eastover has approximately 565 students (2008) in grades Kindergarten through 5th Grade.
- Eastover’s student population is very diverse. In addition to challenging and innovative instruction in the regular classroom, we offer excellent services for the visually impaired.
- Eastover’s instructional team includes 37% with advanced degrees, 63 % with 4+ years experience, 4% National Board certification.
- Eastover’s PTA has one of the most active memberships in Mecklenburg County. It supports the school community by raising money each year to support school-wide initiatives including: providing technology for the 21st century learner, staff development support, additional classroom materials, library books, our Accelerated Reader subscription, classroom libraries, cultivating community partners, and organizing a variety of activities for prospective, new and current families.
- Our school day is from 7:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
