School Facts
David Cox is located in the University Area close to Harris Blvd. and I-77.
We are a K-5 school with over 800 students, 70 teachers and assistants.
Many of our teachers have earned their National Board Certification and
nearly one quarter of our teachers have earned a Master's degree.
Each morning at 9:15, our elementary school starts with a student produced
broadcast of WCOX that airs on our closed circuit television network.
The instructional day ends at 3:30.

At David Cox, we believe that the arts can be used as a tool for learning.
We have partnered with artsTeach, a non-profit organization that
works in partnership with the Arts & Science Council and CMS.
ArtsTeach provides funding and professional development
in support of arts education in Charlotte.
Students and teachers have participated in grants that
integrated core curriculum with dance, storytelling, and opera.
