Congratulations to our 2008-2009 students and staff!

The Cato Middle College High School student's End of Year (EOC) test scores are the second highest of all High Schools in North Carolina.  Only one school had a higher success rate than Cato Middle College High School students on their EOC exams.  The students at Cato Middle College High School also had 100% pass rates for all EOC's taken the second semester of the 2008-2009 school year.  The overall Performance Composite was 98%.

Cato Middle College High School is an "Honors" level education collaboration between Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and Central Piedmont Community College.  Located on the CPCC Cato campus, the Middle College will serve motivated high school juniors and seniors who are focused on completing their high school diploma requirements while earning career and college credits at no cost to them.  The Middle College student population represents diversity in culture, ethnicity, and areas of interest, skills, and talent.  These students are saving thousands of dollars on college credit that can be transferred to  universities they choose to attend. 

Current students enrolled in Cato Middle College High School will graduate with an average of 30 semester hours of college credit that can be transferred.  Six out of our 8 seniors that applied for admissions to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill were accepted.  This is an admission rate of 75%.  This is unprecedented!

Alex won the conference wrestling tournament and will be competing in the regional tournament to qualify for a State Championship!!!

Congratulations to Olivia Evans

Olivia placed 2nd and 3rd in the regional swimming meet!!  She will be competing in the State Championship on February 11th.  Good Luck Olivia!!!

Congratulations to Cato's First Graduating Class

On May 28th, Cato's first senior class graduated.  To date, the 57 seniors have earned over $300,000 in academic scholarships.  Multiple news stations were present to cover the events.  Links to their articles are below:

Cato Seniors donated a tree in the front of the Cato II building at the Cato Campus for CPCC in celebration of Earth Day and to honor CPCC and its faculty for all they have done to support them as a graduating class.  Read the Article

Congratulations to Timothy Staton-Davis!! 

Timothy was selected to attend the 2009 Governor's School of North Carolina.  The Governor's School is the oldest statewide summer residential program for academically gifted high school students in the nation.  See the List
