Senior Banquet - Thursday, February 11, 2010 - Hilton Charlotte Center City 7:30-10:30pm - New
Class of 2010 Senior Banquet is a semi-formal event. Printed invitations will be distributed in homeroom
on 2-4-10. All seniors will be required to present a photo ID at check-in. Parking is $5-cash only. The
address of the Hilton is 222 East Trade Street, Charlotte, NC 28202.

Butler Boutique - Dresses being accepted now through Feb. 22 - New
The PTSO and the Junior Board are partnering again this year for the 2nd Annual Butler Boutique.
The Junior Board will be collecting new or gently used prom dresses, shoes, and accessories
now through February 22. Tax write-off forms are available in the main office. Dresses will be
sold on March 2 (Butler students only) and March 4 (open to Butler students and the public). All
dresses will be sold for $30 or less. The Boutique will take place in Room 960. All proceeds will
benefit the Emily Rose Scholarship Fund. Please bring items you wish to donate to the Main
Office.


HOSA sponsored Blood Drive - Friday, February 26 - beginning at 7:30am - New
The Hosa spring blood drive will take place at Butler on February 26. Butler students may sign
up the week before the drive; parents and community members are welcome to donate.
Remember to drink plenty of fluids several days prior to the drive and eat a good breakfast
on the day of the drive.

Butler Athletic Booster Club Raffle Information - New
The Butler Athletic Booster Club will be raffling a PlayStation 3 game system! Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.
Tickets will be sold at the concession stand during home basketball games (1/26, 1/29, 2/5, and 2/12) and
during lunches, Jan 26th through February 12th.
The winner will be chosen during the half-time of the boy’s
varsity game on Friday, February 12th
.

Senior Parents: The State Employees Credit Union is having a FAFSA day to help parents complete
the FAFSA form. It will be held on February 13th at all SECU branches. Bring the following: 2009 federal
tax returns (parent and student if applicable) and FASFA pin number (can be obtained at

Please contact your nearest branch to make an appointment.

Seniors planning to take the CPCC placement test (accuplacer) at Butler on February 23rd must take
a PRACTICE Accuplacer Test by February 1st. Students should Google “accuplacer,” and several practice
tests will appear. Complete a reading and math test and bring 3 pages of the practice to Mrs. Ellis in Guidance.

Relay for Life - Butler Bulldog Team Forming - Mint Hill Park - May 14-15 2010 - New
The Advanced Health Sciences class is gearing up for Relay for Life. This year it will be held at the Mint Hill
Park on Highway 218 on May 14 and 15. We need members to join the teams and raise money for cancer
research. If you are a cancer survivor, please contact Jen Pearson of the American Cancer Society at
704-770-1887 for more information on how to get involved. We would love your participation in this relay and
to honor you as a survivor.

To join the Butler Bulldog team go to NT face=Geneva,Arial,Sans-Serif color=black>www.relayforlife.org click on info, then find a relay, type in
Matthews/Mint Hill, click join a team and search for Butler Bulldogs. From here you can put in your
personal information, pay the registration fee of $10 and begin collecting $$$$$ from friends and colleagues.
You can create your own page and even collect donations via the internet. Our students will personally
contact you to see if you need any help.
Remember, we’re just a step away from finding a cure!!!

Be a campus crime stopper! Log on to the Campus Crime Stoppers website to report crime happening at Butler. You
may remain anonymous. If your report leads to an arrest, disciplinary action, or found property, you can receive a cash
reward. Website information is posted in every classroom and located on the bulletin boards in the main building.
You can also contact any teacher, administrator, or school resource officer to report crime.
