Principal's Message
Ms. Caroline Horne
Principal
Welcome to Beverly Woods! I am honored to be principal of a school where genuine love for children, high expectations, and character building are a priority. We are fortunate to have an outstanding staff, student body, PTA, and parent network who bring enthusiasm, passion, and commitment to the vision of our school.
As one of the few native Charlotteans, I began my education at Lansdowne and First Ward Elementaries, graduating from East Mecklenburg High School. After receiving my undergraduate degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and two graduate degrees from UNC-Charlotte where I received the Principal Fellows scholarship, I began my career as a classroom teacher for CMS. I then became a teaching assistant principal, assistant principal, acting principal, and am now beginning my fifth year as principal of Beverly Woods. My husband and I have two children, a 4 year old, who attends Christ Lutheran Childcare, and a eight year old, who will be in third grade at Beverly Woods.
As a parent and a principal, my top priority is providing the best education possible in a nurturing environment for our children. I encourage you to explore our website and access the individual links to learn more about our facility, staff, programs, curriculum, activities, partnerships, and other informative topics. We have provided e-mail addresses for all staff in order to be readily accessible and responsive to your concerns.
At Beverly Woods, we have a strong commitment to academics, character education, cultural enrichment, technology, and leadership development. Please join me in working together to ensure that each child at BW can become a respectful and productive global citizen.
