Book Week (3/29-4/1)

The week of March 29-April 1 is going to be Book Week at Bain.  Our theme is going to be "Get Carried Away with Books!"  We are looking for volunteers to dress up as their favorite book character and read to a class during Media- or just read your favorite children's book!  Book Character Day will be Wednesday, March 31st.  The students are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character.  Miss North Carolina will also be at Bain on March 31st reading to the students during the afternoon media classes.  If you would like to read to your child's class, that would be great!  If you are interested in reading and/or dressing up and reading to a class (or two), please contact Evelyn Moore at e.moore@cms.k12.nc.us by Friday, March 19th.

Restaurant Family Nights

Chick Fil-A will also be holding Bain Family Nights on Tuesday, March 30th and on Tuesday, May 4th.  Just let the order takers know that you are a Bain Family and a portion of the evening's sales will be donated to Bain.

Beginners' Day (4/23)

Save the date!!!  Bain will be holding its Beginners' Day for incoming kindergarteners for the 2010-2011 school year on Friday, April 23.  Check-in will be from 7:45am to 8:00am.  The Kindergarten Orientation Program will be from 8:05am to 8:25am.  Classroom visitations will be from 8:30am to 9:45am.  Bain School Spiritwear will also be on sale that day.  Prices range from $1.00 for bookmarks to $10 for t-shirts.

Used Book Sale

In lieu of the Spring Book Fair this year, the PTA will have a used book sale.  This is a great way to save money, recycle books and promote summer reading.  The sale will run from May 24-28th and will be held in Room C-11.  Books will be priced at $1 for paperbacks and $2 for hardbacks.  (Cash only!!) Students will be shopping during their Media time that week.  Please turn in your donated books to your child's teacher.  As we get closer to the date, a box will be set up in the school lobby for donations as well.  Please donate only elementary and middle school age books.  If you can, the PTA would appreciate it if you could note the AR level inside the book cover.

Yearbook Uploads

The yearbook committee has partnered with Herff Jones Photography to enable our families to upload their Bain pictures onto a web site for possible use in the 2009-2010 yearbook.  If you have pictures you would like to share from class festivals or general class photos, please click on this link: Photo Upload and enter the school code for Bain which is 1004565.
