School Hours 9:15 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. Mission Statement: Our mission through team work is to create, nuture, and support enthusiasm and readiness for learning during this early stage of children's development.  Administrators: Principal  Susie A. Johnson Assistant Principal Gisele M. Burton Location: Amay James is located near West Boulevard in southwest Charlotte off of Amay James Ave. and near the Amay James Recreation Center. 2009-2010 School Supply List: Backpack Book Bag (large enough for a folder & a storybook)  2 Big Beach Towels or 1 Big Beach Towel & 1 Crib Sheet  Change of clothing in plastic ziplock bag  Wet Wipes Liquid Soap                                                                                                             OPTIONAL: Tissues   School Uniforms: Students will be required to wear red or white shirts with collars and khaki bottoms. Tops must have sleeves, long or short and be in good repair. Closed toe shoes, preferably tennis shoes should be worn. Flip flops will not be permitted. School uniforms are now available at a number of local stores, thrift stores and Good Will. The price range at one local store is from $8.00 to $15.00 per article of clothing. Information will be provided to parents on local department stores that sell uniforms. All items will be readily available in many Wal-Mart, Target and Family Dollar stores.
